Interal's largest single investment of all time is now in place and operational. A brand new robot cell with a Fanuc robot and a four-axis multi-op; Haas VF4SS. To this ”tape-in / tape-out function”. We have purchased the complete solution robot + conveyor belt from InLead, which has also fully automated the robot cell and put it into operation for a couple of our articles. The next step is to add more articles to this cell gradually. Three of Interal's technicians / adjusters have been on training, and learnt the Fanuc system as this is new to Interal.
The cell is suitable for pieces with higher surface finish requirements and higher machining precision as the machine is equipped with probing. Large volumes are of course the optimum, but thanks to short set-up times due to smart fixtures and tool magazines with space for many tools, it is also suitable for smaller volumes.
The robot cell is adapted to be able to service two CNC machines in the future and has the capacity to take over a large part of our current manual jobs. We look forward with great excitement and high expectations to seeing the results of this new way of working at Interal.
