Interal has recently installed probing solution in a number of CNC machines for increased accuracy, less variation and better machining results. This project started before the holidays when probing was installed in our Haas VF4. After training / running this and with good results in hand, we have now installed this solution on two more of our machines. The probe allows us to set the zero point(s) directly against the part being machined, instead of as before when the zero point was set against a fixed point in the fixture / vice. This contributes to a more accurate result and reduced variation, which we see as an important step in our quality work.
